GRAND RAPIDS (AP) A former teacher convicted of trying to take photos up a 15-year-old student's skirt in class has been sentenced to 180 days in the Kent County Jail.
Steven Sanger, 41, also received 30 months of probation at his sentencing hearing Tuesday in Kent County Circuit Court.
A jury convicted the former Byron Center High School science teacher and track coach in August on a charge of attempting to capture or distribute an image of an unclothed person. Sanger was accused of using a digital camera to secretly snap images of the girl's underwear.
Investigators found no photos. Sanger repeatedly denied the charge.
