JAMESTOWN TOWN-SHIP A Bloomfield Hills woman was in critical condition after running a stop sign and being hit by a semi tractor-trailer Thursday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff Sgt. Steve Austin, the incident occured at around 9:40 a.m. at the intersection of Adams Street and 32nd Avenue in Jamestown Township.
Investigation suggests that Diane Lynn Demaria, 47, of Bloomfield Hills was traveling south on 32nd Avenue, Austin said, when she failed to stop at the posted sign at Adams.
Upon entering the intersection, Demaria's 2008 Nissan Ultima was struck by a westbound semi tractor-trailer driven by 61-year-old Leslie Louis Calkins of Gowen, Austin said.
Demaria was pinned in her vehicle and had to be extricated by Jamestown Township fire and rescue, Austin said. She was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids
