SPRING LAKE VILLAGE Long-time Village Planning Commissioner Elizabeth Wheeler has decided not to seek reappointment when her term expires next month.
Wheeler, who has served on the commission for 10 years, said she would "be willing to fill in if necessary" until someone is appointed to replace her.
"It was a privilege and reward to serve and I feel strongly about contributing to this community," Wheeler said. "We need more people to step forward."
Anyone interested in Wheeler's vacant seat should call 842-1393 for an application.
Village President Bill Filber, after reading a letter Monday submitted by Wheeler, said he has "sincere appreciation and gratitude" for Wheeler's years of service to the Planning Commission.
