Prescription pills taken from Ferrysburg home

FERRYSBURG — Three prescription medications were reported stolen from a Ferrysburg home on Sunday.

According to a news release from the Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police Department, an officer was summoned Sunday morning to a residence on the 500 block of Pine Street to reports of a breaking and entering that had occurred there overnight. The homeowner told the officer that he had gone to bed at around 1:40 a.m. and noticed a sliding door was open when he got up around 3:30 a.m.

Later in the morning, the man told police he could not locate his medications, which had been left on the counter about 10 feet from the sliding door. According to police, the homeowner said the sliding door had been left open overnight and that the kitchen light had been on during the night.

The homeowner said he did not hear anything suspicious.

Nothing else appeared to be missing from the residence, according to police.
