Robert Parnell Jr.

Robert B. Parnell Jr., age 60, of Archbold, Ohio, passed away Tuesday evening, June 30, 2009, at Defiance Area In-patient Hospice.

Bob's career started in Patrol and Investigation in Detroit. In 1974, he relocated to Archbold; and along with his father started Associated Patrol & Investigation. He drove heavy equipment for Mil-Co in Archbold and worked for Sauder Woodworking in Archbold for over 20 years.

Robert was born in Grand Rapids on April 12, 1949, the son of the late Robert B. and Barbara (Gold) Parnell Sr. On July 10, 1976, he married Linda (Schroeder), and she survives. He attended St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Archbold. Bob was also a member of Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon.

Surviving, besides his wife, Linda; is one son, Todd (Melissa) Parnell; and granddaughter, Taylor; daughter, Michelle (Chad) Short; and grandsons: Coltin, Cale and Casen, all of Archbold; and one sister, Patricia (Alan) Garter of Grand Haven.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and stepmother, Alice.

"Bob had a zest for life and his passions were his family, friends and golf. If you had the privilege of knowing him, you had a friend for life."

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Reichert officiating. Interment will be in the Archbold Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Martin's Lutheran Church on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to NWO Kidney Foundation, 3100 W. Central Ave., Suite 250, Toledo, OH 43606; CHWC Hospital Hospice, 619 W. High St., Bryan, OH 43506; or Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice.
