Alexandria Bunker, 18, was driving west on North Cedar Drive at around 10:40 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle while entering a curve to 128th Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Allman of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said.
Bunker possibly left the roadway to the right, Allman said, and then overcorrected upon re-entry, causing her vehicle to slide sideways across the centerline where she was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Rose Smith, 48.
Both women were taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. They were both wearing seatbelts, Allman said, and alcohol was not a factor.
