Downtown Grand Haven car show Sunday

Fri, Jul 10, 2009

The Grand Haven Area Jaycees will host the 2009 Wheels of Grand Haven Car Show on Sunday in downtown Grand Haven.

Event organizers expect to attract more than 300 vehicles to the show on Washington Avenue. The cars will compete in 40 classes, with trophies provided to the top three vehicles in each class.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the event ends at 3 p.m. The cost to register a vehicle is $15, but the show is free and open to the public.

Proceeds from this year's event will be donated to Love INC in partnership with Feeding America West Michigan, which used to go by the name Second Harvest Gleaners. The organization distributes more than 7,500 pounds of fresh food to people in need in the Tri-Cities area.
