Cisco exec from Calif. found dead in Detroit

DETROIT (AP) — Police are investigating the death of a 42-year-old high-tech executive from California whose body was found near a topless bar in Detroit.

Benjamin Goldman was fatally shot in the neck, Detroit Police spokesman James Tate said Wednesday.

The body was discovered Aug. 19 about a block from the Penthouse Club. It wasn't immediately identified because there was no wallet, Tate said.

"He had visited a few topless bars, the last one being the Penthouse on Eight Mile," Tate said.

Goldman, a marketing executive, was in Detroit on a business trip for Cisco Systems Inc. He lived in Los Gatos, Calif.

Tate said police were interviewing many people.

Goldman worked at Cisco for 16 years. The San Jose Mercury News said 400 people attended a memorial service for him in California.
