A Holland man said he was robbed early Sunday morning after watching Grand Haven's Fourth of July fireworks display.
According to Lt. Joseph Boyle of the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety, the 25-year-old man, whom police declined to identify, reported walking east down Washington Avenue between 3 and 4 a.m. after drinking at the Kirby House and eating at Mr. Kozak's when he said he was struck in the side of the head in the area of Central Park.
The man reported being knocked unconscious, Boyle said, and, upon waking, made his way to his car and called a friend to drive him home. His wallet, ID and $60 in cash were stolen.
After returning to Holland, the man's mother took him to Holland Hospital for treatment, Boyle said. The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone who may have information, or lost or found property during or after the fireworks are encouraged to call the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety at 842-3460, Boyle said.
