Cold weather and ominous skies didn't stop the streets of downtown Grand Haven from becoming a trick-or-treaters' paradise on Saturday.

Downtown Grand Haven was filled with the young and young at heart for the downtown Spooky Business Halloween event.
The event featured trick-or-treating at downtown businesses, pumpkin painting and decorating, tractor-driven hayrides around the town and plenty of costumed individuals.
Downtown officials were impressed with the participation at this year's Halloween event.
"We always have a pretty good-sized crowd throughout the day whenever we do these Halloween things," said Dana Kollewehr, Grand Haven Main Street Downtown Development Authority director.

She said the event typically falls the Saturday prior to Halloween, but since the holiday fell on a weekend, it allowed for a modified event.
"Especially this year, being on a Saturday, everyone is looking for something to do," Kollewehr said.
The downtown Grand Haven event was just one of many Halloween festivities taking place Saturday in the Tri-Cities area.
