CROCKERY TOWNSHIP A Fremont man was injured Monday night when he fell asleep while driving his car and crashed into a tree.
Frank Blain, 68, was southbound on 112th Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. when he apparently fell asleep while driving a 1993 Buick Roadmaster, crossed the centerline and crashed into a tree about a quarter mile north of State Road, said Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.
Blain was taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Austin said.
Blain, who was wearing his seat belt, was ticketed for careless driving, according to Austin.
