In the heyday of railroading, 98 trains a day arrived and departed the Tri-Cities. This was a major transportation hub with numerous rail lines traveling through here linking to all directions.
West Olive resident and railroad buff Marty Strang will be the featured speaker at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum's Brown Bag Luncheon Series at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Strang will show slides of the Tri-Cities including the depots, roundhouse, turn style and coal tippler.
Strang is a member of many historic railroad organizations including the Pere Marquette 1223, the West Michigan Railroad Society, and the Muskegon Railroad Society. His presentation will also cover the different rail lines that traveled through the Tri-Cities.
