HOLLAND The 10th annual Girls Dream Fair will take place Thursday at Central Wesleyan Church in Holland.
About 300 eighth-grade girls from Allegan and Ottawa counties will gather to explore pathways to future careers and higher education, and seek mentors for guidance and encouragement.
The day will begin with a welcome by Charisse Mitchell, executive director of Center for Women in Transition, the sponsoring agency, at 9:15 am. The girls will visit the "Career Pathway Exhibitor Exploration Sessions," where they can ask questions about career preparation. Area college and trade schools will give participants suggestions for achievement for higher education.
The Association of University Women and Counterpart, a woman's professional organization, are partners in the program.
The day-long program ends with a panel presentation at 1:40 p.m.
