FERRYSBURG A business renting part the former Ferrysburg Elementary school was broken into over the weekend, the second such incident in recent months.
Spring Lake/Ferrysburg police officers were called to the former school, 17290 Roosevelt Road, on Sunday morning after the owner of a daycare company operating out of the building noticed an open set of double doors.
According to police, it appears that someone entered the building through a window and left through the doors. Witnesses reported seeing a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt walking around the building earlier in the morning, police said.
The room the suspect entered contained nothing of value, police said, and other rooms used by the day care were secured. It appears as nothing was taken.
The building, which is now owned by the city of Ferrysburg, was also broken into with office windows being smashed in late October. Anyone with information is asked to call the Spring Lake/Ferrysburg police department at 842-1889 or Silent Observer at 842-1400.
