Veach's 17 points, 12 rebounds leads GVSU

RENSSELEAR, Ind. — The Grand Valley State University men's and women's basketball teams swept a doubleheader from Saint Joseph's College Tuesday.

In men's basketball, GVSU received 23 points from Justin Ringler and 18 from Toreau Brown as it won 76-69. The Lakers improved to 2-1 overall.

Alvin Storrs added 13 points for Grand Valley, while teammate West Trammell had 10.

In women's basketball, GVSU beat winless Saint Joseph's 81-72 as five players scored in double figures and the Lakers sank 10 3-pointers.

Grand Haven graduate Emma Veach led Grand Valley (2-1) with 17 points, a career-high 12 rebounds and a career-best five steals. She also had five assists.
