School bus driver cited after crash

OLIVE TOWNSHIP — A school bus driver received a traffic citation for rear-ending a vehicle while children were on board the bus Thursday morning, according to police.

Bus driver Jessica Todd, 33, was headed east on Port Sheldon Road in Olive Township around 8:20 a.m. with 11 children on the bus. Norton Shores resident Dawn Kohn was also headed east in front of Todd; and, when Kohn came to a stop at 136th Avenue, Todd rear-ended her Toyota Camry.

No one on the bus was injured. Kohn, 45, was also uninjured.

Todd was cited for failing to stop with assured clear distance.
