PAW PAW (AP) Police in southwest Michigan have arrested a man at a house where they say they discovered six methamphetamine labs.
David Craig Smead, 31, was jailed Thursday night on a $25,000 bond in Van Buren County on an outstanding felony warrant accusing him of operating and maintaining a meth lab. He was to be arraigned Monday.
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office said Smead was arrested during a Wednesday raid in Paw Paw, 10 miles southwest of Kalamazoo. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
Deputies said they also arrested a 44-year-old man found hiding in a closet. The man, whose name wasn't released Thursday, was being held on a state probation violation.
