Haven swimmers can't catch Dutch

Grand Haven's boys swimmers and divers suffered a 109-75 loss at the hands of Holland on Tuesday evening.
Mike Vaandering took the Buccaneers' lone first-place finish as he won the diving competition. Teammate Casey Carlson was second.
John Lown placed second in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, while Alex Clark was second in the 100 butterfly, Sam Schulze was second in the 100 freestyle, and Aaron Venema was second in the 500 freestyle.
The Bucs' 200 medley relay team of Daniel Beebe, Lown, Clark and Schulze took second but qualified for the state meet with a time of 1 minute, 45.19 seconds.
Grand Haven takes on East Kentwood on Thursday night in Kentwood.
