Spring Lake got a glimpse of the course it will be playing on at Thursday's Division 3 regional, as the Lakers battled at Katke Golf Course on Tuesday during the Big Rapids Invitational.
The Lakers' finished tied for fifth at the event, as their 406 was even with Farwell. The host Cardinals won the event with a 377.
"It was a spongey, wet sod we had to play on, but they did a pretty good job keeping the course playable," Spring Lake coach George Bitner said. "It rained pretty much all day."
Jaime Rosema and Devon Olrich each fired a 95 to lead the Lakers. Eryn Gregory carded a 107 and Elinor Adams shot a 109.
Other schools participating in Thursday's regional include Cedar Springs, Cheboygan, Comstock Park, Coopersville, Fruitport, Tri-County, Ludington, Petoskey, Chippewa Hills, and Whitehall.
