Haven hockey tops R-P, remains undefeated

Two goals from Will Mulligan and a goal apiece from Jake Kramer and Conor Fredricks lifted the Grand Haven varsity hockey team to a 4-1 victory over the host Reeths-Puffer Rockets in the Andy Hanichen Turkey Invitational on Friday at Lakeshore Sports Centre.
Grand Haven advances to the tournament's title game today against Grand Ledge. The puck drops at 2 p.m.
Reeths-Puffer jumped out to a 1-0 lead, thanks to a first-period goal from Matt Stolzman, but the Bucs' defense and goalie TJ Roth kept the Rockets in check the rest of the way. Roth made 20 saves in goal.
Ian Hibbard, Heath Wagenmaker and Tyler Ploeg had assists for the Bucs, which improve to 3-0 this season.
Grand Haven outshot the Rockets 32-21, including a decisive 15-6 advantage in the third period.
