A 22-year-old Muskegon man pleaded guilty to four charges this morning in Ottawa County 20th Circuit Court for his role in 15 Tri-Cities area thefts that date back to May 2007.
Eric Allen Campbell pleaded guilty to two breaking-and-entering charges, safe breaking and being a fourth notice habitual offender.
Campbell is one of three suspects in a multi-county series of break-ins, many including the theft of scrap metal. The suspects were caught in Fremont, where police said they had broken into a credit union and accessed a vault. They also face additional charges in Newaygo County.
Grand Haven Department of Public Safety announced the arrest of Campbell; his father, George Campbell, 43, of Grand Haven; and Christopher Thompson, 21, of Muskegon, on Dec. 7. The trio was arrested following a task force investigation involving Michigan State Police and authorities in Ottawa, Muskegon and Newaygo counties.
