An RBI single from Cody Borta was the only damage Grand Haven's baseball team could do against visiting Rockford Tuesday, as the Rams prevailed, 5-1.
Grand Haven falls to 2-9 in the O-K Red Conference and 4-16 overall.
Rockford put two runs on the board after three innings of play, but Grand Haven's third inning was its most productive, as Andy Martin led off with an infield single, Josh Poel sacrificied bunted Martin to second and Borta's single drove him in with two outs.
But Rockford starter Kyle Lienisch allowed only four harmless singles the rest of the way from Jordan Anderson, Kyle Jonas, Nick Urbanczyk, and Brian Cooke. Lienisch struck out eight Grand Haven batters and walked only one.
Borta pitched 3 1-3 innings, allowing six hits, four runs and walking five. He was relieved by Mike O'Brien, who gave up four hits and one run.

BUCS NO-HIT BY RAMS
Rockford scored a 12-0 victory over Grand Haven Tuesday in an O-K Red Conference softball showdown.
The Buccaneer showed flashes of solid defense, getting the Rams out 1-2-3 in back-to-back innings. Anne-Marie Shumaker made a couple spectacular catches in center field, and catcher Kate Riggs made a diving catch from behind the plate to snag a pop fly.
Grand Haven's offense didn't manage a hit against the Rams.
