'Faces of Jazz' at the Frauenthal Nov. 22

MUSKEGON The West Michigan Concert Winds will present "The Many Faces of Jazz" at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts.
Among the "faces" of jazz to be heard are Dixieland, swing, big band, rag, modern, light and Christmas. The Tim Froncek Trio will be the featured guest and will perform numbers both alone and in collaboration with the WMCW ensemble.
Soloists will perform "Five Mellow Winds," a tribute to Glenn Miller by composer David Schanki. The tuba section will be featured in the "Tuba Tiger Rag" by Harry DeCosta. To complete the program, a jazzy arrangement of "O Tannenbaum" and a rarely performed march by Japanese composer Yoshio Matsuo called "Hello, Sunshine."
A silent auction will take place in the Frauenthal lobby before, after and during intermission of the show.
