Man ejected from car in Crockery rollover

CROCKERY TOWNSHIP A man suffered head and neck injuries Thursday when he was ejected from the rear of a car as it rolled over on Interstate 96 in Crockery Township.
The one-car crash occurred about a mile east of the Fruitport exit at around noon, according to Sgt. Kevin Allman of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.
The driver, Tosha Ann Captain, 22, of Muskegon told police she felt her vehicle shake before she lost control of it. Her car went off the south shoulder of the eastbound lanes before rolling over, police said.
Richard Michael Newman, 24, of the Flint area was ejected from the car, according to police. He wasn't wearing a seat belt.
Newman was taken to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids with head and neck injuries. He was first listed in serious condition, but his status was downgraded to fair, according to hospital officials.
Captain and three other passengers Edwin Joel Coriano, 18, of Flint; Christopher Lee Henderson, 26, of Flint; and Delorace Dmarie Captain, 28, of Fruitport were treated and released from local hospitals.
