Steven Gilbert Fortnam

Steven Gilbert Fortnam, age 52, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at his home.

He was born on November 29, 1956, to George Alton and Betty Helen (Gilbert) Fortnam in Boston, Mass. He married the former Linda Langs on August 11, 1984, in Jonesville.

Steve lived in Spring Lake since 1995, owned and operated 3rd Coast Technologies in Nunica, and was a partner in All Media Productions Inc. and Web Marketing Concepts LLC. Steve attended Christ Community Church of Spring Lake, and was a member of the Grand Haven and Muskegon chambers of commerce. He supported Camp Bluebird, Camp Henry, the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance (LEDA), Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and the Central Park Players. Steve enjoyed photography and music, and loved golfing and canoeing. He was an avid "Sci-Fi" fan and history buff.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; a daughter, Renée Ashleigh (Charles "Chase") Gue of Spring Lake; a son, Sean William Fortnam of Spring Lake; a grandchild, Nathaniel Hunter Gue; father-in law, Francis Langs of Spring Lake; four sisters: Joyce (Peter) Bruckner of Rochester, New Hampshire, Diane (Rick) O'Brien-McClung of Delmar, New York, Capt. Linda (Capt. Doug) Lee of Rockland, Maine, and Laura (Jeffrey) Giadione of Ashburn, Virginia; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother-in-law, Virginia Ruth Langs, in 1982.

A Life Celebration for Steve will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Christ Community Church with the Rev. J. Robert Kleinheksel officiating. Friends may meet the family Friday, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Christ Community Church.
