'Jailhouse Rock!' performed Sunday at WOW

The First Reformed Church Drama Team will perform "Jailhouse Rock!" during Worship On the Waterfront on Sunday evening.

The performance at the Grand Haven Waterfront Stadium will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will last until 8:45 p.m.

"Jailhouse Rock!" is an upbeat musical designed to teach children about freedom in Christ as believers. The musical begins as children are off for a fun week of hiking and swimming at Camp Koinonia. But as they arrive, the skies open up with a torrential downpour as they become "stranded" in the mess hall. As the children feel "locked up" inside, the camp director and junior counselors teach them about Paul, Silas and Peter's experience in the Bible being "locked up," and how prayer and praise makes a difference.

Joni Eareckson Tada will make a surprise visit by video and share her testimony.

The youth drama team at First Reformed Church consists of 11 elementary and middle school students. The team prepares two musicals per year.

Come early and join the Praise Team in song at 7:15 p.m.

No tickets are needed and the concert is free. A free-will offering will be taken.

Next Sunday, July 13, Worship On the Waterfront will welcome Geoff Moore to lead the worship.
