Tri-Cities Unity golf outing Aug. 14

Pre-registration is now being accepted for the third annual Tri-Cities Unity Golf Classic.

Jim Roberge, parishioner at Saint Mary's Church, is once again serving as the event chairman.

This year's Tri-Cities Unity Golf Classic will be held on Aug. 14 at Grand Haven Golf Club, 17000 Lincoln Street in Grand Haven Township. The event begins with an 11:30 a.m. lunch and a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Format for the golf outing is a four-person scramble.

The cost to golf is $500 per team or $125 per individual and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, awards dinner, trophies and prizes.

A highlight of the event will be a hole-in-one contest, plus closest to the pin contest and raffle prizes.

All proceeds from the event go towards the support of Catholic education in the Tri-Cities.

"We hope to raise $15,000 for Catholic education for the kids," Roberge said.

This fundraising event is planned in conjunction with the annual Tri-Cities Unity Auction, which is planned for November, 2008 at Saint Mary's Church in Spring Lake.
