Senior golf enthusiasts along the Lakeshore area are invited to a play in a 55-and-over golf tournament, hosted at the Holland Country Club on Aug. 18. This is the second year for this event, which is sponsored by Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Michigan.
Space is limited for this unique event and is likely to fill quickly due to a reasonable entry fee of $50. The one-day event includes tournament day green fee and cart, a practice round (cart extra), lunch, favors and prizes. The field is limited. Players should plan to submit their applications well before the scheduled deadline of Aug. 4 to secure a spot.
Last year's tournament was considered a great success and filled up quickly, according to event chairs Vern Hoeksema and Lou Hallacy.
"Our response from area seniors was extraordinary and exciting. The field was full in 2007 and we look forward to another first-class event in 2008," Hallacy said.
Applications are available through area golf pro-shops and golf retail stores. For more information, visit www.seniortourney.com or call Sam Stover at (616) 392-1844.
