What do you think about the Holland-Grand Haven market merging into the Grand Rapids metropolitan statistical area?

Former Grandhavenite

Squeaky wheels tend to be the ones that get the grease. The entire MSA looks 'worse' in terms of some stats now like crime and poverty, but with a greater need to tackle these issues we're also more eligible for funding. It's pretty much a wash I think, and anyone who really cares about those attributes in an area should be looking at smaller units of analysis like the tract, block, etc instead of worrying about the MSA anyway.

Just another ploy for the GR Chamber to claim GR has Lake Michigan shoreline.
