What do you think of downtown Grand Haven’s streets being used for a two-day extreme sports competition?

The Poll has some pretty skewed choices. 9 options that are against it downtown and one where I'm beside myself with excitement over the thing.
I'm in favor of it, just not at the height of summer. If you want it downtown, push it out to late May-early June or the end of Summer. Considering who the shops on 2nd and third block are marketing to, this doesn't seem very fair to them to have a bunch of sweaty kids and thumping music for their patrons to have to walk through.
This is coming from an ex-ski bum, so I usually like this kind of thing, but it just seems like bad placement to me.

This would be sick! I gotta laugh at all the bots, 'friends' and 'like' sites hitting Perfect Place for it two and three at a time. Young people and their techie stuff. roflmao, gotta bail cause I'm a poser! Hope this goes over for the Downtown Authority, they deserve all they would get from it!

I hope we see the local kids enjoy showing off their talents!

The other locations would be better in some ways however I like to see local vendors and shops getting the foot traffic. the partking is better too...such as it is.

Depends on which extreme sport ...???? Motorcycles? Skate Boards?

All the other locations sound great with interesting topography for a creative event. Why would plain city streets make for any kind of backdrop for extreme sports?

I find it interesting that an extreme sports event is acceptable downtown but a holiday light show is not. How will this help any of the shops on Washington more than the light show? How will the traffic and congestion be better during the summer tourist season? Glad I live in Spring Lake where we don't have any of this nonsense to deal with. (Sarcasm!)
