Off the soccer field, sisters Katie and Molly Miedema look quite a bit alike, although it's certainly possible to tell the two apart. Put them on the soccer field, however, and the sisters, who were born 18 months apart, are nearly identical.

The village has filed a lawsuit against the county election commissioners in an effort to disarm an effort aimed at disincorporating the village. The Ottawa County Election Commission includes Chief Probate Judge Mark Feyen, County Treasurer Bradley Slagh and County Clerk Daniel Krueger.

A pair of Spring Lake girls soccer players entered the training room inside Spring Lake High School earlier this spring with a simple request for the man inside sporting a buzz-cut haircut and dark, thick-lensed glasses and with a regular working wardrobe of shorts and a Spring Lake polo.

When clients of local charter fishing boats are finished with their trip, they typically watch the captains clean their catch, then take the fillets home. A new program called Catch & Cook encourages those anglers to instead take their catch to a local restaurant, which will prepare the fish for them.
