A Ludington area township will hold a special meeting next month to address a constitutional battle over a cross.
LUDINGTON (AP) — Two groups are calling for the removal of a large cross that has stood on public land along the Lake Michigan shoreline for more than 60 years.
The Michigan Court of Appeals has sided with a 2015 Ottawa County Circuit Court decision regarding the cross that was once raised on Grand Haven’s Dewey Hill.
Saturday morning, those who gazed upon Dewey Hill likely noticed a new addition – a white wooden cross perched atop the popular local landmark.
The Dewey Hill cross controversy has been raised again — but this time, the battleground is on social media.
