Boys Junior Varsity Grand Haven (5-0, 1-0 O-K Red) pulled out a 54-50 win over East Kentwood on Tuesday, as David Zuidema sank 5-of-6 free throws over the final 1 1/2 minutes to seal the game for the Bucs. Fruitport's bread and butter is creating scoring opportunities off its full- court pressure defense. Mona Shores had no trouble solving that on Thursday, and the Sailors didn't have many problems handling the Trojans' half-court defense, either. The host Sailors dominated the rebounding edge and held the Trojans to just seven made field goals in a 52-22 result in the finals of the Muskegon Sports Hall of Fame Girls Basketball Classic. In the consolation game of the event, Muskegon defeated Reeths-Puffer, 58-47.
