GHAPS elementary art show opens May 9

Artwork created by more than 800 elementary students will be on display at the Grand Haven Community Center beginning later this month.

The show runs May 9-24 and features artists from all seven elementary schools in Grand Haven Area Public Schools: Ferry, Griffin, Lake Hills, Mary A. White, Peach Plains, Robinson and Rosy Mound.

The Community Center, 421 Columbus Ave., will be open for viewing weekdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is open to the public and free of charge.

Artwork featured in the show includes paintings, drawings, ceramics, fiber arts and paper sculpture.
