Top 5 things to do this weekend

Friday is Good Friday and Sunday is Easter Sunday. Aside from the importance those days have to Christians, the local parks will be filled with kids grabbing eggs and prizes on Saturday.

(1) Easter Egg Hunts — Saturday: 10 a.m. at Grand Haven Gospel Chapel, 1805 Waverly Ave. (for ages 10 and younger); Spring Lake Community Easter Egg Hunt, 10-11 a.m. at Central Park, Spring Lake (for ages up to 10); Coopersville Easter Egg Hunt; 10-11 a.m. at Veterans Park, 250 W. Randall St., Coopersville; Grand Haven Easter Egg Hunt, 11 a.m. to noon at Central Park, Grand Haven (for ages up to 10); Order of the Easter Chapter 132 Star Easter Egg Hunt, 1 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 310 N. Despelder St., Grand Haven.

(2) All-ages Community Easter Egg Hunt — Friday through Sunday, or until the last egg (with a prize inside!) is found. Eggs will be hidden by the Grand Haven Area Convention & Visitors Bureau throughout downtown and Centertown Grand Haven. Details are here.

(3) Howie Day concert — 8 p.m. Friday at Seven Steps Up, 116 S. Jackson St., Spring Lake. An intimate acoustic concert with singer/songwriter Howie Day. Tickets start at $35. 

(4) Music for Meditation — 12:15-12:45 p.m. Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 15395 Rannes St., Spring Lake Township. The church organist performs for Good Friday meditation and prayer.

(5) Dinner and Movie Night — 6 p.m. Friday at the Momentum Center for Social Engagement, 714 Columbus Ave., Grand Haven. “Billy Elliot” will be shown.
