Art for the family

Art simplified is what Grand Haven’s miniature version of the much larger Grand Rapids art festival  is all about, according to ArtWalk organizers.

Part of this year’s ArtWalk was a Family Art Day held Saturday in the first block of Washington Avenue in downtown Grand Haven.

Much like ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, pieces of art are displayed at different locations around downtown and Center Town Grand Haven.

ArtWalk Organizer Steve Loftis said more than 140 entries are on display at 60 different locations.

Bright orange cones mark the art venues around town.

Public voting on the student art displayed at Loutit District Library ended at noon on Monday. The youth competition award ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the library.

Voting on the adult entries continues until 6 p.m. The awards ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Grand Haven Community Center.
