The Tri-Cities Kids League season came to a close this week with one final batch of games around town.
Let's take a look at the final round of results ahead of All-Star weekend.
Sun Devils 17, Hurricanes 5
The Sun Devils finished their season with a perfect 12 wins and no losses with a big win over the Hurricanes in their final game of the season.
The team was coached by Jeff Van Abbema and Rob Buitenhuis and consisted of Adam Haug, Brendan Buntley, Logan Petrus, Robert Greene, Sawyer Van Abbema, Tyler Colvin, Hunter Covelli, Will May, Gabe May, Jaden Bynnendyk, Curtis Buitenhuis, Spenser Schenck and Sam Skogler.
Bulldogs 17, Tigers 7
The Bulldogs ended their season with a win thanks to stellar baserunning by Dylan Wunder, who racked up three stolen bases to go with an RBI double. Gavin Warhurst made a diving catch for an out from the pitcher's mound and chipped in a single form the plate. Jacob Logan continued the stellar offensive night with two stolen bases and two singles, while Justin Hancock threw four strikeouts and picked up a single and one stolen base.
For the Tigers, Jake Arendson finished a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate.
Wolverines 13, Tigers 5
Rangers 13, Yankees 9
R.J. Laffery led the Rangers hitting attack with a triple, while Christian Vandeweg also put together a great hitting performance.
Timber Rattlers 18, Iron Birds 8
Leading the Iron Birds was John Onerline with three innings pitched, supported by a great night at the plate by Jeremy Thayer.
Vinny Derenne led the Rattlers, scoring twice on two hits and three walks, while also making some nice defensive plays. Alex Strauss continued his hot season at the plate with five hits, while pitching three solid innings. Finally, Nick Moore collected three walks and scored three runs.
Marlins 12, Timber Rattlers 10
For the Marlins, Parker Buikema led from the plate, reaching base three times, while Carter Wells reached base twice. Sam Ladronka highlighted his three trips around the bases with an RBI triple.
For the Timber Rattlers, Landen Odonnell pitched three strong innings, he also had a triple and a grand slam to lead the way from the dish. Nick Moore made a nice defensive play at second to save an extra base hit, while Alex Strauss knocked three hits with a walk.
The TCKL season is scheduled to officially conclude tomorrow with the All-Star games. Each level, from instructional through major, will have a showcase of their best and brightest talents from the season at the Grand Haven High School baseball and softball fields. In the event of rain, All-Star games will be played Sunday.
