Pokémon Go in the Tri-Cities

• Jul 19, 2016 at 5:00 PM

The Pokémon Go game has been out less than two weeks, but it’s become a cultural phenomenon. And Grand Haven is far from being immune to the craze.

The Grand Haven Area Convention & Visitors Bureau has put together an extensive how-to guide on its blog page.

“It’s already so popular that it’s on the verge of overtaking Twitter in terms of daily active users,” the CVB blogger writes. “Here’s why we love it!”

The blog post provides you with information on how to get started, aimed at local spots where you can catch ‘em!

“PokéStops located in the Grand Haven area include Mr. Kozak’s Gyros, the Grand Haven Municipal Marina, Loutit District Library and the Musical Fountain stadium,” the blogger notes. “The Grand Haven area also has several ‘Gym’ locations. Like PokéStops, gyms can be found at real locations in the world. Gyms are where you can bring your captured Pokémon to train and battle.

“Gyms located in the Grand Haven area include the Tri-Cities Historical Museum’s Depot Building, the Funky Farm mural across the street from the Grand Haven Farmers Market, and The Front Porch in Spring Lake.”
