Muskegon Community College freshman and former Grand Haven bowling standout Meagan Batka cemented her place in the Jayhawk record books last month with a stellar performance at the 2019 National Junior College Athletics Association Bowling Championships.

Batka finished second in the all-event standings with 2,288 pins and third in the singles standings with a score of 570. The all-event competition features doubles, singles and 5-man competition. There, Batka finished with an average round of 190.

The former Bucs’ performance led a stellar team effort as the Jayhawks finished runner-up overall in the team competition with 11,851 points. Ancilla (IN) took the title with 11,959.

The effort earned Batka an All-American distinction, making her just the fourth Jayhawk bowler to do so in the program’s history.
