Gracious Grounds announces third annual fundraiser gala

• Apr 17, 2017 at 4:00 PM

What began three years ago as a dream to provide independent living options to those with unique abilities has resulted in one of the newest and most exciting non-profit organizations in the Tri-Cities.

From her own personal experience, Sandy Baker knows full well the needs and aspirations of those young adults who wish to live independent and meaningful lives even as they deal with the challenges of the day-to-day life. Gracious Grounds was established to look beyond limitations to create an environment that is affordable, friendly and resident centered. Gracious Grounds emphasizes life enriching activities and togetherness.

Opened less than one year ago, its initial facility located at 1515 DeSpelder, provides independent living for five young men, the first to take advantage of this one-of-a-kind opportunity in the Grand Haven-area.

“This is the first step towards the dream of having multiple locations in the area all with the purpose of giving this unique population a place to be free and independent,” said Gracious Grounds Executive Director Sandy Baker. “Our upcoming fundraiser is a way to thank our supporters, update them on our future plans, and give them every reason to continue their generosity.”

The fundraising event is scheduled for Thursday, April 27, and will be held at the Spring Lake Country Club. Activities begin at 5:45 p.m. with social time – allowing for attendees to mingle with board members, families and residents. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $30 per person and sponsored tables may be purchased for $500, which provides eight seats at the event. To buy tickets, you can go to graciousgrounds.org or call 231-750-1205.
