This year, the private school at the corner of Grant and Ferry streets expects to surpass $600,000 in total funds raised by its auction over the past 17 years.
“These funds help bridge the gap between required tuition and the actual cost of education for hundreds of students,” GHCS Principal James Onderlinde said.
It’s anchors away at 5 p.m. when registration opens, dinner and appetizers are served, and all the silent auction tables open with hundreds of items on the block. The live auction has 46 items and sets sail at 7 p.m.
Some of the items in the live auction include:
— Football camp for boys going into grades 6-8 on July 7 with NFL quarterback Kirk Cousins at Hope College. There will also be a special lunch for campers’ days on Saturday.
— Tickets to Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings and the University of Michigan football games.
— Four tickets to the Broadway shows of your choice in Chicago, plus a $150 gift card.
— One week in a Keystone Village, Colorado, condo; and one week in a cottage that sleeps 10 on a lake near Fremont.
— Fishing trips on Lake Michigan for salmon and on the Grand River with a guide.
— Golfing for four at Pilgrim’s Run and for a threesome at Wuskowan Players Club.
