Employees of the Grand Haven and Spring Lake Post Offices will once again participate in the largest one-day food drive in the United States.

The country-wide food drive is sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carries, the United States Postal Service, the United Way and several other organizations.

On Saturday, May 13, postal employees will be collecting non-perishable food items as they deliver mail to their customers. People can leave their donations in, on or near their mailbox on Saturday and their mail carrier will collect that food and deliver it to a local food pantry.

All items collected in Grand Haven will be delivered to the Salvation Army and Love in Action. Items collected in Spring Lake wil lbe delivered to the People Center.

This marks the 25th year for the national food drive, the 24th year of participation for the Grand Haven Post Office and the 23rd year of collecting food for the Spring Lake Post Office.
