MUSKEGON — The Howling Timbers Animal Sanctuary will be hosting a Howloween Open House from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

The sanctuary is located at 6806 Evanston Ave., Muskegon, about a half-mile west of Maple Island Road.

Admission is $20 for adults and $5 for children. Children younger than 5 get in for free.

Adult admission includes interaction with the sanctuary’s wolf dogs. Admission also includes hayrides, petting farm, face painting, games and prizes, and refreshments. Carnival concessions will be available for purchase.

Anyone donating anything from the sanctuary’s wish list will be entered in a grand prize drawing. Items on the list include bulk bags of carrots and apples, garden fruits and vegetables, any type of meat (including venison), cleaning products, financial donations, and volunteers.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds go to the animals. Howling Timbers gets no state or local funding, and is the only sanctuary in Michigan licensed to take wolves and wolf dogs.
