City of Art

The weather was all over the place: Clouds, mist, rain, sun, fog and just about the same all over again on Sunday. But organizers say the sun came out enough to make this one of the best events ever.

David Vollmer, who creates art landscapes and signs with nails, said he had the highest number of sales ever on Saturday. His top seller was a set of trees designated “Four Seasons.”

An artist from Honor said that he was getting good response to his whimsical clay sculptures.

“It’s been great,” said Chuck Wimmer of Cleveland, who noted it was his first time at the Grand Haven event.

A downpour Sunday afternoon slowed things down, but people just got out their umbrellas, or crowded into the booths, organizers said.

Crowds were huge on Saturday, they noted.
