ALLENDALE — Police on Monday identified the man stabbed to death Saturday evening at Allendale Meadows Mobile Home Park and charged a Grand Rapids-area woman with his murder.

Spencer David Rauch, 26, of Allendale died at the scene, said Capt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

An autopsy conducted Monday morning revealed that Rauch had died of a single stab wound to the chest, Bennett said. The incident has been ruled a homicide.

Heather Marie McFerrin, 33, was charged Monday afternoon with open murder. The Walker woman remains lodged in the Ottawa County Jail without bond, Bennett said. Further court appearances are being scheduled.

The victim and the defendant knew each other, but were not believed to be in a relationship, Bennett said. The investigation revealed the two were at a home on Snow Mass Lane near Boyne Boulevard, went into the street and an altercation led to the stabbing.

Bennett said the case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Observer at 877-887-4536.
