A Kalamazoo man charged with stealing from the Walgreen’s store in Grand Haven was ordered to serve 150 days in jail when sentenced Monday in Ottawa County Circuit Court.

The jail time is concurrent with a 180-day sentence that Marvin Lee Tabor, 27, is serving in Kalamazoo County.

Judge Karen Miedema also ordered Tabor to pay restitution of $294.96. She gave him credit for 83 days already spent in jail.

Miedema said she was not going to tack on probation — although she said he deserved it — because she was not going to duplicate the Kalamazoo County sentence. She did note that Tabor’s criminal history is “significant.”

Defense attorney Michael Zitta said that his client took items while working as a contractor overnight in the store.
