A Marshall man has been sent to prison for violating probation in relation to a drunken driving incident in Grand Haven in October 2016.

Jeffrey James Rhoades, 39, was ordered to serve a minimum of 20 months up to a maximum of five years in prison when sentenced Monday in Ottawa County Circuit Court. He was given credit for 157 days spent in jail.

Judge Karen Miedema turned down Rhoades’ request for boot camp and said she went with the prison sentence because of his record of six convictions. The judge said that she wanted to make sure that he didn’t put any more people at risk by being on the road.
