A 30-year-old Spring Lake man was placed on probation for two years when he was sentenced Monday for a drunken driving charge in Ottawa County Circuit Court.

Daniel Dee Fann was also given credit for 67 days served in jail. He was released Monday.

Fann was charged in an incident that occurred May 19 in Spring Lake Township.

“I’m very grateful that nobody got hurt,” he said after apologizing for his actions.

Fann’s vehicle will be immobilized for one year. He was also ordered to complete 60 days of community service, plus pay fines and costs.

Hulsing commended Fann on his written plan to remain sober. The judge instructed Fann to tape the plan onto his mirror.

“I think it’s a very good plan,” Hulsing said.
