Anthony Scott Gomez was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty last month to a charge of child sexually abusive commercial activity. In exchange for his Aug. 7 plea, two other charges were dismissed: possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.
One of the incidents occurred in Spring Lake Township on or about Dec. 20, 2017, according to court records.
Although Gomez’s attorney emphasized that his client has been in treatment since January, Miedema said the man’s actions over the past decade and the content of the photos from his computer were concerning. The judge noted that pictures were of adult men and young boys.
Gomez must also register as a sex offender as part of his sentence.
