Jack Arthur Roossien, (not the local doctor, Jack Richard Roossien) was also ordered to register as a sex offender, pay a $100 fine as well as court and attorney costs and not contact the complainant.
Roossien walked into the courtroom with the use of a cane, said that he couldn’t make it any farther and then was assisted the rest of the way to the podium in a wheeled chair.
He was also taken from the courtroom in the wheeled chair.
Roossien entered a no contest plea to the charge on Nov. 6.
The incident occurred in mid-March when the witness was driving by Roossien’s house, and observed him outside, yelling at another motorist who had stopped in the road.
“It was really concerning because I have children and I can see his home from my home,” she said.
The woman said she put down her window to see why the car was stopped, and heard Roossien yelling and “cussing.” When she looked to see if she could get around the other car, she said she saw the man “aggressively” fondling himself.
According to Michigan law, it’s the fondling part that elevates the indecent exposure to “aggravated,” making it a felony.
The man was standing on the sidewalk leading to the house, about 25-30 feet from her car, she testified.
